I booked a tour with Suzhou Private Tours few days ago. This tour company was very professional and flexible. I wanted to visit Master of Net's Garden, Lingering Garden, Panmen Gate, and ZhouZhuang Water Town with gondola ride. For a full day tour with 2 adults and 2 children, which included transportation/driver, tickets, water, and guide.
The day started a bit rocky for us because our one of our pre-ordered train tickets couldn't get processed (one digit was missing from the passport #) and they were sold out for that time at the station. We then had to change all our tickets for the next available train, which was an hour later than we had planned. I contacted the tour company and they were very nice about the situation and told us it was not a problem and that our guide will be there to meet us at our new arrival time.
Once we finally made it to Suzhou station (very fast train ride from Shanghai), our guide, Joyce, was there to greet us. She was very energetic and friendly and made us feel comfortable right away.
The gardens were beautiful, but the highlight of our trip was Zhouzhuang water village. The architecture and waterways were stunning. The only negative part of our entire trip was the lunch we had there --the restaurant we were taken to was not very good.
After a long day (we ended around 6:30pm), Joyce accompanied us back to the Suzhou train station where she helped us buy train tickets to Shanghai. Since she knows the train system much better than we did, it made the process easier and we really appreciated the fact that she took the time to do that for us.
Overall, a very nice and full day of seeing beautiful sights!
