Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou holds its annual lotus festival

The 23rd Lotus Festival was held at the Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou on Monday, showcasing more than 200 varieties of lotus and nearly 10,000 pots of lotus flowers to the visitors.

This year’s festival highlights the jar lotus and bowl lotus in the lotus ponds of the garden, among which there are 40 famous lotus strains especially introduced for the festival.

It is estimated that the lotus will fully bloom in the middle of July when the weather is hotter.

The festival will last till September 8. In early July the garden will invite floriculture organizations from Shanghai and Wuxi to stage lotus competition and other activities such as flower arrangement and planting of jar lotus and bowl lotus, as well as lotus-related poetry reciting and lotus photography exhibitions.
